New homepage about food topics
Since the beginning of this year a new homepage about food topics has started. The project www.foodexperts.net is an interactive web based Questions & Answers forum about food topics with the target group general public. It is a platform where a board of experts in Food Safety & Quality, Nutrition & Health and Food Technology & Production give competent answers to food-related questions. The central part of FOODEXPERTS is the Q&A section, where the users can read Q&As of other interested users and at the same time ask questions about food and food production topics.
The content and the style of the FOODEXPERTS’ website was developed to motivate the general public to ask questions. In addition to the Q&A possibilities, it offers a link-list and a glossary. The link list is sorted by the same topics as the background information and “General” section. This makes it easy for interested users to inquire those internet-pages containing information about the certain topic they are interested in. The glossary is a small but important service-feature for the users to get fast access to information on certain words they may not completely understand or just want to know some kind of definition.
The website offers the possibility to search bilingually for food topic information (English and German) which extends the circle of interested interrogators.
FOODEXPERTS is a project of the European Food Information Council (EUFIC). EUFIC is a non-profit organisation which provides science-based information on food and food-related topics to the media, health and nutrition professionals, educators, and opinion leaders.
